Victorian 14kt Carved Urn Shaped Banded Agate Earrings
A fantastic pair of banded agate earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Each of these striking earrings feature an impressive and unusual urn-shaped banded agate stone that hangs below a complementary surmount. The smoothly polished stones display a bold range of colors, including rich brown and black hues, and creamy white banding throughout. Each urn-shaped link dangles below from its "handle" and attaches to a 14kt yellow gold bead which adorns a textured Etruscan design along the surface. The earrings hang freely from simple yellow gold earring wires at the top. When worn, the earrings frame the face beautifully, and are comfortably lightweight. These stylish Victorian earrings merge effortlessly into modern fashion, and would make a wonderful everyday accessory!
Measurements: The earrings hang approximately 1 1/4" in total length (including the wires at the top), and measure a little under 1/2" wide and 3/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the yellow gold bead or wires and no noticeable chips or scratched to the agate links.
