Victorian Sterling Pearl & Enamel Bird Pendant

SKU: 37597

$495
A beautiful and detailed bird pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This lovely piece is made of sterling and forms the shape of a miniature swan-like bird. The bird's body is formed by a single lustrous blister pearl, which is bezel set and exhibits a rich, shimmery surface. Colorful enameled detail decorates the bird's legs, tail, neck, and face, in lovely shades of green and brown. The bird hangs from two strands of delicate natural seed pearls, which meet at a black enameled ring at the top, perfect for hanging from a favorite chain. An additional seed pearl dangles freely from below the bird's feet, adding a delicate accent. A wonderful and unusual Victorian piece, it has a unique look that would make a special addition to any collection!

Measurements: The pendant hangs approximately 1 3/4" long. The bird itself stands 3/4" tall, measures 7/8" long, and 3/8" wide.

Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is very good. Besides normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the silver setting, and pearls are all intact. There is some minor surface wear to the enamel detail on the bird, however, this is normal for a Victorian era piece and does not detract from the design. The surface of the silver shows a natural patina, which is normal gives a darkened antique appearance to the piece.
