Raymond C. Yard was a legendary name in jewelry during the height of the Art Deco era. He began working at Marcus & Co. at the young age of 13, and 20 years later was the company's leading salesman. At the encouragement of John D. Rockefeller, he decided to establish his own company in 1922 on New York City's Fifth Avenue. His high profile clientele included social elites such as the Rockefeller, Vanderbuilt, and DuPont families, and celebrities such as Joan Crawford. Known for his perfectionist nature, his exquisite designs were precisely crafted using only the finest quality gems, materials, and methods. A leader in the jewelry trends of the era, authentic Yard designs stand the test of time and continue to be highly sought after in the modern day.

This breathtaking fur clip from the Art Deco era (ca1920) is a stunning example of Yard's glamorous work! This gorgeous piece is crafted in platinum and encrusted with approximately 1.25ctw of sparkling diamonds. The hallmarks of the Art Deco style come to life in this structured style, complete with sweeping cutouts, arches, and geometric accents. Included within the dazzling diamond ensemble are round Full Cut diamonds, Baguettes, and three Marquise diamonds forming petals at the center. Fine milgrain detail surrounds the stones, which are delicately bead and channel set. The largest center stone weighs approximately 0.25ct. The back of the piece reveals a 14kt white gold hinged clip lined with two rows of "teeth," and two small piercing pins, allowing the piece to clamp securely onto a favorite garment. If desired, a fine chain could be threaded through the closed piece to wear as a pendant. The back of the clip is signed with the authentic "YARD INC" hallmark. A magnificent piece by a legendary maker, this spectacular clip would make a special addition to any collection!

Measurements: The clip measures 1" tall, 7/8" wide, and 1/4" at the thickest point.

Condition: The overall condition of the clip is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to platinum setting or to the diamond encrusted design. All of the diamonds are intact, and the clamp fastens securely.
