An absolutely exquisite moonstone and diamond pendant from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! This striking piece is particularly large in size and depicts a rounded rectangular cabochon moonstone that hangs from a diamond encrusted platinum topper. The moonstone is bezel set in platinum and is very clear with an iridescent blue color. The diamonds are bezel and bead set within the very Deco, cutout topper and have a total approximate weight of .40ct tw. The pendant hangs from a complimentary 3-stone diamond bail which finishes the piece beautifully. The piece has a wonderful and unusual design and would make a perfect addition to any moonstone collection!
Measurements: The pendant hangs a little less than 2 3/8" long, is a little more than 3/4" at the widest point and 1/2" at the thickest point. The cabochon moonstone measures 1 1/8" tall, a little more than 3/4" at the widest point and 1/2" at the thickest point. The interior of the bail measures a little less than 1/4" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the large moonstone or to the platinum setting and all of the diamonds are intact. There is a thin white feather in the center of the moonstone which is hardly noticeable when the pendant is worn. The inclusion appears to be naturally occurring and not an unusual detail considering the large size of the stone.
