Art Nouveau Gold-Filled & French Paste Repousse Locket
An exquisite repousse locket from the Art Nouveau (ca1900) era! This beautiful gold-filled piece is fairly large in size and has the wonderful repousse image of a woman on the front surface. The image of the woman is intricately detailed, with long flowing locks of hair caught in the wind, a faraway gaze on her face, and beautiful flowers that border the outside edge. Sparkling French paste stones are set at the center of the three flowers and in a sunburst in the middle of the design. A set of monogrammed initials in fancy script are engraved on the back of the locket and the piece opens from the top to reveal spaces inside for two special photographs behind glass. At the top is a simple bail, allowing it to be hung and worn on a chain. This beautiful and feminine locket has an absolutely stunning design and would make an incredible addition to any collection!
Measurements: The locket hangs 1 5/8" long, has a diameter of 1 1/4" and is 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold-filled setting and all of the paste stones are intact. The locket closes opens easily and closes securely and the bail is in good condition.
