Arts & Crafts Style Sterling Foil Backed Cabochon Moonstone Conversion Ring
A stunning blue moonstone ring from the Arts & Crafts (ca1900s) era! This gorgeous piece holds an alluring moonstone cabochon at the center of a lovely darkened sterling silver setting. The polished moonstone is incredibly clear, displaying a blue flash and wonderful glassy appearance with a reflective quality that is perfectly showcased against the foil backed setting. The stone is held in a simple bezel setting which rests atop a smooth band that wraps around the back, stamped inside the shank is a ".925" silver purity mark. The juxtaposition of the rich darkened silver against the bright moonstone makes the unique design "pop" and come alive in the light. A perfect everyday ring, it would make a versatile addition to any collection!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size of 5.75, but could be resized if desired. The moonstone centerpiece measures about 3/4" tall, 1/2" wide, and rests approximately 3/8" above the finger when worn. The band measures 2mm wide at the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling setting or to the moonstone cabochon, which is intact and securely set. There is a natural patina on the surface of the silver, which is normal given the age of the piece and adds to its beauty and character.
