Retro Black Bakelite Carved Flower Ring

SKU: 34386

$195

Bakelite is a resin material that was produced in the early 1900s and was the first plastic substance made of synthetic components. Initially used for its electrically non-conductive and heat resistant properties in radio and telephone castings, the material was also used in other products such as kids' toys, kitchenware and jewelry. Typically made of bright, beautiful colors and bold solids, Bakelite has become very collectible over recent years and is still widely appreciated in the modern day.

A fabulous Bakelite ring from the Retro (ca1940) era! This unique statement piece is hand carved from solid black Bakelite. A cheerful flower pattern is carved into the surface of the ring, adding wonderful dimension and texture. A tapered band in the back completes the stylish design. An unusual Retro piece, this fun and funky ring would make a great addition to any Bakelite collection!

Measurements: The ring has a small finger size of 4.5, and unfortunately it can not be resized due to its unique carved design. The carved centerpiece measures 5/8" tall, 3/4" wide, and rests approximately 1/4" above the finger when worn.

Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the carved Bakelite design, which is free of any apparent chips or scratches.
