Victorian 14kt Sapphire & Diamond Crescent Pin
A breathtaking sapphire and diamond crescent pin from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Made of 14kt yellow gold, this exquisite crescent moon piece adorns 11 vibrant sapphires which alternate with rows of 22 old Mine Cut diamonds. The stones graduate in size with the largest of both set in the center of the moon and the sapphires have exceptional color and brilliance which is perfectly complimented by the sparkling diamonds. All of the stones are prong set within the yellow gold setting and the overall approximate sapphire weight is 3.50ctw while the diamond weight of the pin is 0.80ctw, with J-K color range and VS clarity range. The largest sapphire is a certified no-heat Cambodian sapphire, and is accompanied by a Gemological Sapphire Origin report issued by GIA (Gemological Institute of America) in January 2018, confirming the stone's stated characteristics. A real beauty, the piece looks absolutely gorgeous when worn. It's a stunning pin and would make a fabulous addition to any collection!
Measurements: The crescent moon measures 1 3/8" tall, a little less than 1 1/4" at the widest point and has a depth of 1/4".
Condition: The overall condition of the crescent pin is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting and all of the diamonds and sapphires are intact. The clasp is secure and in good working condition.
