Victorian 15kt/Silver Rose Cut Diamond Crescent Pin/Pendant 3ctw
A spectacular diamond crescent moon pin & pendant from the Victorian era (ca1880)! Made of 15kt rose gold, the piece is topped in silver and encrusted with 23 sparkling diamonds. The chunky rose cut diamonds line the surface of the crescent in a graduated fashion, with largest stones at the center and the smallest at the tips. They rest in a shared prong and bead setting, and weigh approximately 3ctw combined. When worn, the light catches the diamond design perfectly, delivering a spectacular sparkle! On the back of the piece is a hidden bail and removable screw-in pin clasp, allowing the crescent to be worn two ways: it can be hung from a complimentary chain, or fastened to a favorite garment. This celestial piece is positively breathtaking and would make an outstanding addition to any Victorian collection!
Measurements: The crescent pin measures 1 1/2" tall, 1 1/4" wide, and approximately 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver-topped gold setting or diamond stones, all of which are intact. The hidden bail and detachable pin clasp are both secure and in good working condition. There is a natural patina on the surface of the setting, which is normal for antique jewelry and part of its unique appearance and character.
