Victorian 14kt/Sterling Burmese Ruby + Diamond Crescent Pendant Necklace 15.5"
An absolutely breathtaking ruby and diamond crescent from the Victorian era (ca1880)! Originally an antique pin, the sterling and 14kt gold crescent has been expertly converted into a gorgeous pendant that now hangs from a modern white gold chain. A stunning row of 17 Cushion Cut Burmese rubies line the outside of the crescent, weighing 1.50ctw collectively, exhibiting luscious raspberry red hues. Decorating the inside of the pendant are 19 old Mine Cut diamonds, weighing 1.00ctw collectively, sparkling beautifully in the light with every turn. The gorgeous bead-set stones graduate in size, with the rubies resting in yellow gold and the diamonds nestled in darkened sterling silver, to create a fabulous mixed metals appeal! A scalloped wirework design embellishes the outside edge of the pendant, which is attached to a white gold chain that fastens at the back with a lobster clasp stamped "14K" and "ITALY." Accompanying the piece is an appraisal issued by an independent and accredited GIA certified Graduate Gemologist in June 2018, with a stated retail replacement value of $6,000.00. This stunning celestial pendant necklace is positively exquisite and would look wonderful worn day or night!
Measurements: The necklace measures 15.5" long. The crescent pendant measures a little more than 1 1/8" tall, approximately 1 1/8" wide, and 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the yellow gold and sterling silver setting. All of the rubies and diamonds are intact and securely set. The lobster clasp is secure and in good working condition.
