Art Deco 14kt Guilloché Enamel & Pearl Heart Charm/Pendant
Guilloché (in English usually "Guilloche") is an engraving technique in which a very precise, intricate pattern is mechannically etched in an underlying material with very fine detail. Most commonly, the Guilloche surface is then enameled and the repetitive, intricate design shows through the colorful enamel.
A lovely Guilloché heart charm/pendant from the Art Deco (ca1920) era. Made of 14kt yellow gold, this beautiful heart-shaped piece has a delicate and feminine design. The front surface of the heart displays beautiful Guilloche work with a peachy-pink colored enamel and a petal-like texture below, adding depth to the piece. At the center of the heart is smooth is a single natural pearl, surrounded by a gold bezel setting. On the back of the heart is a hand-engraved inscription in flowing script: "Grandmother W to Lara 1925". At the top of the heart is a simple gold jump ring marked "14K". This sweet and romantic piece would look lovely worn as a pendant on a delicate gold chain, or could make a perfect addition to a special charm bracelet!
Measurements: The charm/pendant hangs approximately 7/8" long (including the bail), measures approximately 1/2" at the widest point and is a little more than 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the charm/pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or Guilloché enamel work. Both the pearl and bail are intact and in good condition.
