Their Asian-inspired design has a gorgeous floral motif with a bold mixed metals fabrication. The earrings are made of blackened steel, which has been oxidized to create its wonderfully dark, matte finish. The panel of blackened steel has a flat surface which curls and dips inward at the middle. An 18kt yellow gold flower design is riveted to the front surface of each earring, depicting an upside down flower with delicate petals, leaves, and a curved stem. Two 18kt yellow gold balls hang from the flower and dangle in the open space where the steel curves inwards. A delicate gold ball adorns each side of the bottom edge of the earrings. The unique design has a gorgeous contrast between the black and gold colors, while allowing for elegant movement. Each earring is hinged in the back and features a curved steel clip to secure the earrings on the ear. Four gold bands wrap around her arms, appearing as if they attach to a feathered motif that hangs below her outstretched arms. The "feathers" are embellished with gorgeous white, green, and deep red enameled cells, which are separated by fine twisted rope wirework. The pharaoh's ornate headdress forms the shape of a bird whose feathered bodice adorns complimentary enameled cells and a line of accent diamonds trail down the side of its open wing, a wonderful sparkling detail. On the back of the piece is a secure bar pin clasp, making it easy to fasten the brooch to a favorite garment. Stamped on the back of the pin is "585" and the slightly faded Carl Bacher's hallmark, "J|B." Two Austrian touchmarks are found on the bar pin, including one with a "W" indicating that it was assayed in Vienna and a "4" indicating its 14kt carat weight. This fantastic pin is a truly outstanding piece by Carl Bacher, showing exquisite detail and exemplary craftsmanship. One of the most brilliant gems, it has a high degree of fire and almost rivals that of diamonds. Anxious to access the wealth of the new world, voyages by the Portuguese and Spanish hastened the discovery of these gemstones. Often mistakenly referred to as chrysolite, they are quite rare. Collectors have held on to these obscure colored stones, which range from pale yellow to puce soft green. Its use in jewelry has all but disappeared today and remains very rare.

Absolutely exquisite chrysoberyl earrings from the late Georgian (ca1830s) period. These unusual and incredible earrings are a great representation of how beautiful chrysoberyl stones can be. Each earring, which is particularly substantial in length, is crafted in sterling silver and encrusted with 51 large sparkling chrysoberyl stones. The earrings have 3 moveable elongated links that connect at the bow-like center and each old cut stone is bezel set. The chrysoberyl displays a vibrant pale yellow green color and the stones are beautifully faceted within their closed back setting. Surrounding the entire earring is a rose gold beaded border which compliments the sterling and chrysoberyl wonderfully. The earrings have the original sterling screwbacks which could easily be converted to wires or posts if desired. They are simply marvelous earrings and would be perfect for a special occasion and are a must-have for a collector!

Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 3" long at the longest point, and measures 3/4" at the widest point and a little more than 1/8" at the thickest point.

Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent.
