$54,995

An absolutely superb pair of diamond earrings from the Georgian (1820s) era! These incredible earrings are crafted in sterling silver-topped 18kt yellow gold and feature a sparkling array of old cut stones. With a total of 88, each stunning Rose Cut diamonds is displayed in closed-back clawed collet setting, beautifully catching the light with every turn. The earrings begin with an 18kt yellow gold wire which adorns a large Rose Cut diamond center encircled by ten smaller stones, creating a stunning cluster. An elongated teardrop loop lined with diamonds hangs below, finished with a single diamond at the base. The loop, which hangs freely from the surmount, is accented by a complimentary diamond encrusted link which dangles in the center. The graduated drop of diamonds ends in a second floral cluster, perfectly completing the exquisite design. The movable hanging links add wonderful motion to the earrings, enhancing the diamonds' sparkle and bringing the 200 year old works-of-art to life. These breathtaking earrings are perfect for special occasions and would make a magnificent addition to any collection.

Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 2 1/2" in total length including the wire. They measure a little less than 3/4" at the widest point, and are nearly 1/4" thick.

Condition: The earrings remain in excellent antique condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver and gold setting or to the gold wires. All of the Rose Cut diamonds are intact and securely set. Due to the hand-cut nature of old Rose Cut diamonds, the shape of the stones do not have perfect symmetry. This reflects the age and genuine appearance of the diamonds. There is a natural patina on the surface of the silver, which is a normal characteristic of antique jewelry.
