E.M. Gattle & Co. was founded by Emanuel Gattle in the latter part of the 19th century. Originally, the company was located on Broadway in the theatre district. In 1907, the company moved to the corner of 38th Street and Fifth Avenue and, later, to 55th Street and Fifth Avenue, next to the prestigious St. Regis Hotel. One of their notable customers was Enrico Caruso, who was not only a shopper of Gattle, he also allowed his name and photograph to be used in Gattle advertising. Gattle became very successful until the time they closed their doors in 1940.

This stunning sapphire and diamond ring is designed by E.M. Gattle & Co. and from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! Crafted in vibrant 18kt yellow gold, this gorgeous piece adorns an incredible sapphire cabochon at the center of a smoothly polished band. The gemstone exhibits a beautiful deep blue hue and is set high upon the ring, creating a unique profile. The center stone is framed by two old Mine Cut accent diamonds on either side, which are set within the face of the band. The sparkling stones catch the light beautifully with every turn and pair perfectly next to the sapphire and yellow gold setting. The band graduates slightly towards the back, and stamped inside of the shank is a faded "GATTLE" hallmark, beside a "18K & P" gold purity mark. The stylish design merges seamlessly into modern day fashion and could appeal to either a woman or man. A perfect everyday piece, it would make a fantastic addition to any jewelry collection!

Measurements: The ring has a finger size 8, however it could be re-sized. The centerpiece rests 1/4" above the finger when worn. The graduated band measures 3mm wide at the back.

Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. The sapphire and all four diamonds are intact and securely set.
