A lovely diamond and sapphire watch from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! Perfect for special occasions, the striking watch is made of platinum and features a round watch face at the center, which is decorated by a stunning diamond and calibrated sapphire border. The sides of the face are engraved with a leaflike motif that runs all around the outside edge of the watch. Set at each shoulder of the center watch face is a gorgeous heart shaped link made of platinum and encrusted with diamonds. The top of each heart is also accented by a row of delicate sapphire stones. The platinum pieces rest on a black leather band that is topped with a deep indigo blue silk finish. The movement has several markings including "GENEVA SWISS" and "HELBROS W.Co". A truly stunning piece, this watch would be perfect for any watch collector or fashion forward woman!
Measurements: The watch band measures 8 3/8" from end to end and is 1/2" wide. The round watch face has a diameter of approximately 3/4" and is 1/4" thick. The heart shaped links are slightly more than 1/2" tall and 5/8" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum and the diamond and sapphire stones are all intact. There is some normal surface wear to the leather band, which is not visible when worn. Watches of this era should be cleaned and oiled periodically and at this time, the watch is in fine working order and keeping good time.
