Art Deco Sterling Silver Marcasite Watch Fob
A beautiful and wonderfully detailed watch fob from the Art Deco (1930) era! This lovely piece is made of sterling silver and and the entire surface is encrusted with sparkling marcasite stones. The marcasites are set within a lined geometric pattern that adds wonderful, subtle detail, giving a beautiful Deco look. At the base of the fob is a round watch face which has a pearly white background and silver ticks and hands. The face of the watch is stamped with words "BUCHERER", "17 Jewels", and "SWISS MADE". The winder can be found at the side and at the top is a silver bail, where one could connect a watch chain or necklace. It's a wonderful piece and would make a fantastic addition to any collection!
Measurements: The watch fob hangs approximately 1" long and has an approximate diameter of 3/4".
Condition: The overall condition of the watch fob is excellent. Besides normal surface wear and a few small scratches on the watch face, there is no apparent damage to the silver fob and all of the marcasite stones are intact. Watches of this era should be cleaned and oiled periodically and at this time, the watch is in fine working order and keeping good time.
