Edwardian GIA-Certified Natural Jadeite Bead Necklace + Platinum Diamond Clasp 34"
A stunning jadeite necklace from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! This high quality piece features a strand of 139 natural jadeite beads, which meet at a gorgeous platinum and diamond clasp. The jadeite has simply beautiful coloring, displaying a lovely range of natural translucent greens with subtle milky white inclusions. Each bead is hand strung on on pale green thread and knotted in between. At the back of the necklace is a barrel-shaped platinum clasp, which has a decorative checkerboard pattern of fine filigree cutouts. Sparkling accent diamonds adorn both sides of the clasp, totaling 0.25ctw with H/I color and VS clarity. Thanks to its generous length, the necklace can be easily slipped on and off overhead without the need to unfasten the catch.
Accompanying the necklace is a Jade Report issued in March 2019 by GIA (Gemological Institute of America), confirming the beads to be natural jadeite with no signs of color treatment. The necklace was also appraised in January 2019 by an independent and accredited GIA-certified Graduate Gemologist, giving the piece a retail replacement value of $25,000.00. A timeless and classic piece, this wearable design has endless versatility, and would be a wonderful addition to any fine jadeite collection!
Measurements: The entire necklace measures approximately 34" long. The beads graduate in size, ranging from 4.30mm to 6.5mm to 9.43mm. The clasp measures about 3/8" long and 1/4" wide and thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the natural jadeite beads, which are securely strung and free of any visible surface chips or scratches. The platinum clasp fastens securely, and all of the diamonds remain intact.
