Edwardian Platinum Cabochon Sapphire Diamond Cluster Ring 2.54ct center
An incredibly stunning sapphire and diamond ring from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! This gorgeous piece is made of platinum and features a single cabochon sapphire bezel set at its center. The natural sapphire stone has a beautiful deep blue color and weighs approximately 2.54ct. Surrounding the sapphire is a halo design comprised of 22 bead set diamonds that form the sparkling border. On the shoulders of the ring are 6 additional Single Cut diamonds. Altogether, the 28 stones have a total approximate weight of 0.30ctw, with H-I range color and VS2-SI range clarity. On the underside of the elegant mounting is an attractive airline with a cutout wirework design decorating the gallery. Delicate milgrained detail can be found framing the diamonds and center sapphire. A small French hallmark is stamped on the outside of the shank, and the number "104" is engraved on the side. The ring was appraised by an independent and accredited GIA-certified Gemologist in April 2014 and has a stated retail replacement value of $5,200.00. It's a unique and visually stunning piece that looks absolutely breathtaking when worn. It would be a lovely everyday piece, or could make a very special engagement ring!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 6.25 but it could easily be re-sized.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum setting, and the sapphire stone and all of the diamonds are intact.
