Georgian Silver-Topped Drippy Rose Cut Diamond Earrings

SKU: AB2004A

$10,995

An exquisite pair of drippy chandelier earrings from the Georgian era (ca1830)! These incredible earrings are made of silver-topped gold and encrusted with sparkling old Rose Cut diamonds. Each earring has a long, elegant design comprised of delicate diamond clusters, floral petals, and open swirls. All of the rose cut diamonds are belcher set set and foil-backed. Five strands of diamond teardrop links swing freely from the bottom, and a diamond-lined bow rests directly above. The reverse side reveals a yellow gold back engraved with delicate flowers, a lovely and feminine touch. The earrings hang from gold posts at the top, and their hinged design gives them lovely movement when worn. Despite their substantial size, the earrings are lightweight and comfortable to wear. Georgian jewelry is very collectible and these earrings are particularly impressive! They would look stunning worn on special occasions and would make an incredible addition to any Georgian collection!

Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 3 1/4" long, measures 1" at the widest point and has a depth of approximately 1/8". The overall pennyweight of the earrings is 13.9 dwt.

Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is very good. Georgian jewelry is very old and it is common to encounter normal signs of surface wear or minor repairs. These earrings are very well crafted, with all hinged links intact and both posts are secure. The silver has a darkened appearance from a normal surface patina, which adds depth to the design. A few of the smallest diamond accents are no longer intact, but could possibly be replaced. However, it is only noticeable under close inspection, and the earrings have a magnificent overall appearance when worn.
