Late Victorian German .900 Silver Turquoise Sword Pendant
A gorgeous signed sword pendant from the Late Victorian (ca1900s) era! Crafted by talented German maker, Martin Mayer, this bold piece is crafted in .900 purity silver and displays 18 lovely blue turquoise cabochons. The sword has a feminine look, its hilt displaying the largest turquoise and its rain guard decorated with soft silver swirls. A hidden bail behind the sword's hilt makes the pendant ready to pair with a favorite chain, and the back is marked "900" and with the "✶⎈" Martin Mayer hallmark. This pendant is a beautifully crafted piece and would make a wonderful addition to any turquoise collection!
Measurements: The sword measures approximately 2 5/16" long, 7/16" at its widest point, and nearly 3/16" in depth.
Condition: The pendant is in overall very good antique condition. One prong in the sword's blade is missing and there is a tiny chip in its turquoise stone. This is not visible when worn, nor does it negatively impact the beauty or integrity of the piece. Besides this, there is no apparent damage to the silver setting and the remaining stones are all intact. The bail is in good working condition.
