Early Victorian French 18kt/Sterling Diamond Cluster Ring

SKU: 44682

$1,695
A magnificent diamond cluster ring from the Early Victorian (ca1850) era! This gorgeous piece is crafted in 18kt yellow gold and sterling silver, creating a fabulous mixed metals appeal. Nine Rose Cut diamonds gently glitter as they form a beautiful cluster design, collectively weighing approximately 0.65ctw. Each stone is held in a sterling silver setting, catching the light brilliantly with every turn. The sterling silver shoulders are adorned by a rosy 18kt yellow gold split shank design, its pattern carrying through the band. The bottom of the band is marked with a French dog head and two indistinguishable hallmarks. An absolutely gorgeous Early Victorian piece, it would make a perfect statement piece for special occasions, or a unique engagement ring!

Measurements: The ring is a finger size 6, but could be re-sized. The diamond cluster measures 7/16" in diameter, and rests 1/8" above the finger when worn.

Condition: The ring is in overall excellent condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver-topped gold setting, and all of the diamonds are intact and securely set. There is a natural darkened patina on the sterling silver, which is common given the age and adds to the unique beauty of the piece. Due to the hand-cut nature of old Rose Cut diamonds, the stones are not perfectly symmetrical. This reflects the age and genuine appearance of antique diamonds.
