Victorian 14kt Petite Sapphire + Diamond Halo Ring 1.00ct center
A gorgeous sapphire and diamond ring from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Crafted in 14kt gold, this classic design features an oval sapphire at the center of a sparkling diamond border. The sapphire weighs approximately 1.00ct, and displays a breathtaking shade of blue. Surrounding the sapphire is a halo of delicate old Mine Cut diamonds, which have a collective carat weight of approximately 0.25ctw. All of the stones are prong set in gold, and form a "crown-like" formation when viewed from the side. Completing the design is a smooth gold band, which tapers slightly as it nears the back. Stamped on the inside of the shank is a "14" gold purity mark. This beautiful Victorian ring has a timeless look that is both elegant and feminine. It would look wonderful worn day or night, and could make a breathtaking gemstone engagement ring!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 5.5, but could be easily resized. The sapphire and diamond centerpiece measures about 3/8" long, 5/16" wide, and rests approximately 1/4" above the finger when worn. The tapered gold band measures 2mm wide at the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. All of the stones are intact and securely set. The sapphire contains a small naturally occurring inclusion near the surface, which is not noticeable when the ring is worn, and does not detract from the beauty of the gemstone nor the overall design.
