$4,195
A fantastic and unique pair of earrings from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 15kt yellow and rose gold these decorative earrings have a beautiful 3-dimensional appeal which takes form in a shell-like design. With two yellow gold shell halves, each side has the appearance that it is propped open by a large rose gold ball resting inside. A pattern of delicate Etruscan wirework and beadwork adorns the curved outside of each disc, forming an intricate border. The earrings hang from earring wires attached to decorative surmounts which also has a shell-inspired motif with curled edges and a gold ball resting in the center. Despite their size, the earrings are comfortably lightweight and have lovely movement when worn. A wonderful example of fine Victorian jewelry, these beautiful Etruscan earrings would make a special addition to any collection!

Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 1 1/2" long and measures 3/4" wide and thick. The total pennyweight of the earrings is 6.9 dwt.

Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the gold setting or to the Etruscan detail. The earring wires and surmounts are secure and in good condition.
