In French, fleur-de-lys means "lily flower." Decorative ornaments that resemble the fleur-de-lys have appeared in artwork from the earliest human civilizations. It has consistently been used as a royal emblem, though different cultures have interpreted its meaning in various ways.

A beautiful fleur-de-lys watch pin from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This lovely piece is crafted in 14kt yellow gold, and carries a delicate and feminine design. The fleur-de-lys shape, depicted fully in bloom, has been topped with rich, royal blue enameling and lining center is a row of delicate old Rose Cut diamonds, adding a soft sparkle! The back of the piece reveals both a pin clasp as well as an extended clasped hook bail, allowing it to be worn simply as a brooch or paired with a complimentary pocket watch, which would securely hang from the hook. This symbolic antique piece merges seamlessly into modern day fashion, and would make a perfect everyday accessory!

Measurements: The fleur-de-lys measures 1 1/8" tall, 7/8" wide, and about 1/4" thick. The total pennyweight of the piece is 3.9 dwt (6.2 grams).

Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. The accent diamonds are all intact. The bail and pin clasp are secure and in good working condition.
