Bohemian garnet jewelry dates back to the 19th century. During this time, garnets were one of the most popular types of stones used in jewelry production. The garnets were often placed close together in an effort to produce a more pronounced color and brightness than when they were set singularly. Most often, bohemian garnet jewelry was set in a closed back setting made of rose gold gilt over silver; this method is sometimes referred to as 'garnet gold'.

A fabulous Bohemian garnet bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This extravagant piece has a rose gold gilt silver setting and is encrusted with hand cut and faceted garnets. The bracelet is comprised of 24 links that connect to each other by small, hidden hinges. Larger rectangular shaped links alternate with thinner rectangular shaped links to form this flexible, wide piece. The thinner garnet links rest slightly lower than the larger links and are encrusted with faceted, closed-back garnets. The larger links are lined with 3 rows of open-back stones that have flat fronts and faceted backs. The clasp is hidden within the 2 end links and there is a safety chain for added security. The garnets are in excellent condition, with a vibrant, luscious color. The bracelet looks beautiful on and would make a perfect addition to any collection!

Measurements: The bracelet measures 6 7/8" in length, is 3/4" wide and 1/8" in depth.

Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the gilt gold setting and all of the garnet stones are intact. The clasp and safety chain is secure and in good working condition.
