Vintage Mexican Sterling & Moonstone Collar Necklace
An absolutely striking Vintage Mexican sterling and moonstone necklace from the 1970's! Made of sterling silver, the piece begins with 14 large sterling silver links that have a scalloped shape. Hanging from the necklace are 9 additional curled links that drape along the neck in a bib collar design. Dangling in the center of each curled cutout is a bezel set moonstone which has wonderful, clear blue color. The links are connected to each other by a sterling silver hinge to form an absolutely stunning collar necklace that rests beautifully on the neck. The piece clasps at the back where it is stamped with several markings: "MEXICO", "970EAM", "TAXCO" along with another makers mark. It has a striking look on and would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The inside of the necklace measures approximately 17" in length around the neck. When worn, the necklace drops 2 5/8" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver setting or to the moonstones and the clasp is secure and in good working condition.
