Edwardian 14kt Natural Turquoise Festoon Style Necklace 16.5"
An outstanding turquoise necklace from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! This magnificent 14kt rose gold piece features twelve natural turquoise stone links that form a beautiful festoon style necklace. Dangling freely from the center is a round turquoise link, adding wonderful movement to the design. The stones vary slightly in size and shape, and exhibit saturated shades of deep robin's egg blue with natural mineral spider webbing (known as "matrix") marbled throughout. Each stone rests in a bezel setting surrounded by a twisted rope design, providing wonderful texture to the piece. Connector loops attach the links together, and resting at the back is a simple chain which fastens with a spring ring clasp stamped with a "14K" gold purity mark. When worn, the piece rests dramatically along the neckline, creating a fabulous statement piece. A breathtaking Edwardian piece, this necklace is perfect for the turquoise lover and would make an impressive addition to any antique jewelry collection!
Measurements: The necklace measures approximately 16.5" long. The turquoise link at the center hangs slightly more than 1" below the necklace. The largest turquoise link measures about 1" wide, 3/4" tall, and is slightly less than 1/4" thick. The smallest link measures approximately 3/4" in diameter and is 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to any of the turquoise stones, all of which are intact and securely set. The clasp fastens securely and is in good working condition.
