Victorian 14kt Diamond Horseshoe + Retractable Pencil Pendant

SKU: 42499

$2,395

A rare and fabulous pendant fob from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This stunning piece is crafted in 14kt rose and is rather substantial in length, adorning a diamond lined horseshoe across the front surface. The sparkling old Mine Cut stones weigh approximately 0.35ctw combined and rest in a shared prong setting, catching the light beautifully with every movement. At the tip of this barrel shaped pendant is a mechanical pencil hidden inside of a unique retractable design. The round bail and cap on the top pull outwards to reveal the pencil, and once exposed, a twisting mechanism raises and lowers the tip, adding to this piece's incredible craftsmanship. The exposed cap displays a ribbed surface, perfect for a strong grip, and a stamped along the side is "14K" beside a "FJ" shield shaped hallmark. The pendant is smoothly polished, allowing the brightness of the diamonds come alive against the rich, rose gold surface. Finishing the design is a set of engraved initials, "WFC" written in a fancy swirled font, which vertically adorns the back of the fob. Perfect for hanging from a favorite chain, this one-of-a-kind pendant would make an wonderful addition to any collection!

Measurements: The entire piece hangs approximately 2 1/2" long (including the bail), and measures about 3/8" in diameter. When the pencil is revealed, the pendant hangs 4 1/2" long, and the pencil itself measures 7/8" long and 1/8" in diameter.

Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the rose gold setting. The diamonds are intact and securely set. The retractable mechanism of the bail and cap, along with the pencil move smoothly and securely. The original pencil tip is worn, however it is intact and in good working order. The bail is secure and in good working order.
