Victorian English 15kt Rock Quartz Crystal Double-Sided Heart Locket Pendant
A beautiful and romantic heart locket from the Victorian (ca1900) era! This gorgeous double-sided piece features a 15kt yellow gold encasement, which holds two heart-shaped rock quartz crystal plaques inside. The smoothly polished and clear plaques act as a window, allowing a photo or object inside to be showcased on the surface of both sides. A simple round bail at the top is creatively incorporated into the design, acting as the screw top, that when unscrewed, opens the encasement and allows the wearer to customize the piece, if desired. Stamped on the edge of the heart are several English hallmarks, including an anchor, indicating it was assayed in Birmingham, "15" and "625" and a date letter, "a" dating it to 1900. An endearing Victorian piece that blends seamlessly into modern day fashion, and would make a perfect everyday accessory!
Measurements: The locket pendant hangs a little less than 1 1/4 long, measures approximately 7/8" wide, and is 1/8" thick. The interior heart-shaped space measures a little less than 7/8" wide at the widest and approximately 7/8" tall at the tallest.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to gold setting or to the rock quartz crystal. The screw top bail is secure and in good working order.
