Victorian Large 15kt + Gold Quartz Heart Pendant
Gold-in-quartz was formed while the earth was still in its molten state. During the cooling and solidification process, veins of gold became trapped with the crystals of quartz in the mine. This created a very dramatic contrast between the white quartz and the yellow of the gold. Jewelry crafted from gold quartz became quite a fashion statement of the 1880's.
A stunning gold quartz heart pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This romantic piece, which is relatively large in size, makes a wonderfully bold statement whether worn alone or paired with other pendants. The gold quartz is smoothly polished on both sides and displays lovely swirls of soft white, grey, caramel browns, and light-catching specks of vibrant gold. The earthy colors of the stone pair perfectly resting in the 15kt yellow gold bezel that surrounds it. Attached at the top of the pendant is a simple ring bail, perfect for hanging from a favorite chain. A bold and feminine piece, this pendant would make a gorgeous addition to any collection.
