An absolutely fabulous rock quartz crystal pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This lovely piece is comprised of a single plaque of rock quartz crystal, which is particularly large in size. The crystal is oval shaped with a faceted edge that reflect the light beautifully with every turn. Riveted into the center of the plaque is a marvelous beetle crafted in 18kt yellow gold. A stunning tiger eye cabochon represents it's body, and exhibits a beautiful deep brown and golden caramel colors, which are iridescent and flash when turned in the light. Six sprawling legs are topped in sterling silver and lined with incredible old Rose Cut diamonds, which also decorate its head and wings that are tucked in at the back. A pair of yellow gold antennae peek out from the head, where two raspberry red rubies represent the eyes, and a pair of delicate pearls rest behind. Riveted into the top of the piece is a large fluted yellow gold bail that is adorned with a gorgeous rich red garnet cabochon, and stamped on the back is a hallmark. It's a simply magnificent piece that would make any collection complete!

Measurements: The pendant measures approximately 2" long (including the bail at the top), is a little more than 1 1/4" wide and is about 1/2" thick

Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is in excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the crystal plaque or the tiger's eye or garnet stones. All of the diamonds and pearls are intact and securely set. The bail is secure and in good working condition.
