Art Nouveau 14kt Moonstone Pin/Pendant
A lovely and artistic moonstone pin/pendant from the Art Nouveau (ca1900) era! This beautiful piece is made of 14kt yellow gold, and adorns 7 moonstone cabochons on its front surface. At the center of the piece is a larger moonstone surrounded by 6 smaller round stones, each held in a prong setting. The alluring moonstones are translucent with lovely pale blue flashes that catch the light beautifully. An incredible scrolled wirework design in yellow gold completes the feminine setting, which is detailed with delicate gold beadwork at the tips of the swirls. At the top of the piece is a swinging gold bail, allowing it to be hung from a complimentary chain. The back of the piece reveals a gold bar pin and clasp, so that it can also be worn as a pin as well if desired. A very special and versatile piece, this lovely pin/pendant would make a beautiful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pin/pendant hangs 1 1/4" long, is 1" at its widest point and has a depth of 3/8" at the thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting and all of the moonstones are intact. Both the swinging bail and pin clasp are secure and in good working condition.
