Victorian Silver & French Paste Lizard Pin

SKU: 18015

$795
A wonderful and decorative pin from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This silver brooch forms the shape of a three-dimensional lizard, whose body is encrusted in sparkling French paste stones. The pin is highly detailed, including webbed feet, a curvy body, and long pointed tail. Traveling down the center is a row of bright green crystal "scales," bordered by white crystals on either side. Two deep red crystals represent each of the lizard's eyes, and engraved details can be found along the edges of the tail. The underside of the piece reveals a secure bar pin clasp, allowing it to be fastened to a favorite garment. A wonderful and very eye-catching piece, it would make a charming addition to any collection!

Measurements: The pin measures approximately 2 1/2" long, 1" wide, and 1/4" thick.

Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the setting. All of the French paste crystals are intact, and the pin clasp fastens securely. The setting may have been previously gilded, and displays a natural patina, which is a normal characteristic of antique and vintage jewelry.
