Victorian 14kt Seed Pearl Garnet Shooting Arrow & Moon Earrings
Beautiful and unusual pearl and garnet earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! With a simple yet lovely design, each earring is crafted in 14kt yellow gold and has a lovely shooting arrow and moon motif. Resting atop simple earring posts, each design consists of a crescent moon center formed by seven lustrous seed pearls. The pearl moon is set within an open gold ring and a vibrant prong set garnet is rests in the center. A shooting arrow "weaves" through the center of the crescent ring, and 5 additional pearls are set along the pointed tip and fletching of the arrow. The natural seed pearls have wonderful luster and look beautiful paired with the garnet and yellow gold setting. Perfect for everyday wear, they are wonderful and unusual Victorian earrings!
Measurements: Each earring measures approximately 7/8" wide, is a little less than 1/2" tall and has a depth of 1/8".
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or posts and all of the pearls and garnets are intact. There is a slight color contrast between parts of the gold on the two earrings, most likely due to a prior repair. This difference is not noticeable when the earrings are worn, nor does it detract from their beauty.
