Vintage 18kt Enameled Figural Lionfish Ring
A fabulous and bold Vintage figural lionfish ring from the 1970s era! This unique 3-dimensional piece is crafted in 18kt yellow gold and portrays the shape of an exotic-looking lionfish who's colorful body wraps around the finger. Native to the Indo-Pacific oceanic region, this distinct fish features vibrant stripes and flowing spikes along the spine. Similarly, the ring adorns a fabulous enameled surface featuring royal blue stripes atop a vibrant green and orange background, with wonderful red enameled "spikes" lining the top. The colorful tail rests next to the animated face, which is embellished with spherical eyes topped with bright red and black enamel, and a few sharp "teeth" inside the open mouth. Lovely etching throughout provides a wonderful textural appeal, and a smoothly polished band wraps around the back where a hallmark is found, and two gold purity marks "750" and 18K" are stamped inside of the shank. When worn, the ring makes a fabulous and colorful statement piece, perfect for the fashion-forward woman's collection!
Measurement: The ring has a finger size 7, but it could be resized slightly. The front of the ring measures about 5/8" wide (at the widest) and rests slightly less than 1/2" above the finger when worn. The gold band measures 2.5mm wide at the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. The enameled surface shows some light wear, however, due to the intricate nature of the design, it is not noticeable when worn.
