Renowned Danish silversmith Georg Jensen was born in 1866. His training in metalsmithing and his education in the Fine Arts enabled him to develop a successful career based in beautiful jewelry and silver design. His signature Art Nouveau style grew increasingly popular and Jensen became a world renowned artist. Although Jensen died in 1935, his pieces are still being created today using the same craftsmanship as when he was alive.

This sterling silver ring is a fabulous example of Georg Jensen's impeccable craft. Approximately from the late 1940s era, this wonderful piece is crafted of sterling silver and features a single oval-shaped cabochon hematite stone set in a simple yet beautiful setting. The hematite is bezel set and the shoulders ornately extend onto each side of stone with a floral-like motif. On the underside of the ring is the signature "GEORG JENSEN" hallmark which was used from 1945 to present time, "STERLING", "DENMARK", and the number "51". This fabulous piece would make a great addition to any Jensen collection!

Measurements: The oval shaped hematite measures approximately 5/8" wide, 3/4" tall and has a depth of 3/8". The ring has a finger size of a generous size 8 but it could easily be resized.

Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the hematite stone and no significant damage to the silver. The hematite is smooth and not dull and looks like it may have been recently polished.
