Victorian Style English Sterling Gate Link Bracelet & Padlock Heart Clasp
A lovely Vintage (ca1980) sterling silver bracelet inspired by the Victorian era! This stylish English piece features a flexible gate link chain and a central padlock charm. The rows of gate links interlock perfectly, and have twisted bars along both edges for additional decoration. Fastening the bracelet is a heart-shaped padlock clasp at the center. A cutout keyhole and engraved screw heads decorate surface, and the curved handle acts as the clasp function. A safety chain weaves through a ring at the top of the clasp, providing extra security. Stamped on the back of the padlock are the maker's initials "ASJ" and a few small English hallmarks including a lion (representing that it is sterling .925 purity silver), an uncrowned leopard's head (signifying that it was produced in London after 1822), and the date letter "f" for the year 1980. This delicate bracelet is very comfortable to wear and would look wonderful worn alone, or paired with other complementary bracelets!
Measurements: The chain measures approximately 7 1/4" in length, and would fit nicely on a medium/average sized wrist. The gate link design measures 1/2" wide and 1/8" thick. The padlock heart clasp measures about 3/4” tall, 1/2" wide and 1/8” thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling chain. The padlock heart clasp fastens securely, and the safety chain is securely attached.
