BARRY KIESELSTEIN-CORD Vintage Wide Sterling "Sport" Link Bracelet
Creating art as objects, with a sense of style ungoverned by the whims of fashion, Barry Kieselstein-Cord was a talented artist known for his somewhat bold, sculptural, sophisticated and primitive techniques. His often whimsical pieces are coveted because they are thought of as much more than jewelry and accessories, but instead as a piece of art. Many of his creations have been accepted into the permanent collections of the Louvre in Paris, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston as examples of fine arts, but more importantly, they are valued by individual collectors, who collect them and display every day in the world’s greatest gallery in the world—its streets.
This fabulous Vintage bracelet is a signed piece by Barry Kieselstein-Cord from 1996! Crafted in sterling silver, this substantial bracelet is comprised of 4 slightly curved plaque links hinged together to form a stylish design. Each wide plaque is smoothly polished and features a hinge on either end that forms a straight but flexible design that wraps comfortably around the wrist. Fastening the piece together is a unique push clasp attached to the final link, and stamped on the front is "SPORT" and "© B.Kieselstein-Cord" along with his signature crescent moon and star hallmarks. Similar hallmarks are found on the back of each plaque, along with a "925" silver purity mark, and the date "1996." A wonderful example of Barry Kieselstein-Cord's work, this modern and stylish design would be perfect worn on its own or stacked with other complimentary bracelets!
Measurements: The bracelet measures 7.25" in total length. When clasped, the inside of the bracelet (where a wrist would rest) has a diameter of 2 3/8", and would fit nicely on a medium to large sized wrist. The bracelet measures 1 1/16" wide, and is 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver setting. The push clasp is secure and in good working order.
