Late Victorian Cut Crystal Jar w/Sterling & Enamel Lid
An absolutely beautiful sterling silver and crystal jar from the late Victorian era (ca1900)! The jar, which is round in shape, is made of cut crystal and has a stunning design that carries around the entire jar, as well as the bottom of the piece. The lid of the jar is made of sterling silver and opens easily at the top. The center of the round lid is covered in enamel and displays flowers and greenery in a small basket, accented in bows. The enamel includes soft shades of blue, brown, pink, white, and green. A sterling repousse border, which carries four flowers, compliments the center picture perfectly! The enamel and cut crystal design make this an absolutely gorgeous jar. It would make a perfect addition to any collection!
Measurements: The jar measures approximately 2 3/4" tall with the lid on, and has a diameter of about 3 3/4" at the widest part. The lid has a diameter of 2 7/8”.
Condition: The overall condition of the jar is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling lid, enameling, or cut crystal base.
