Victorian French 18kt/Sterling Rose Cut Diamond Buckle Bracelet
A fabulous buckle bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880) era! The bangle bracelet, which is made of 18kt yellow gold, has a detailed buckle design topped in sterling silver and encrusted with sparkling diamonds at the front. In the center of the buckle design is a single old Mine Cut diamond weighing approximately 0.85ct, which is held within a bezel setting. An additional 39 old Rose Cut diamonds adorn the rest of the buckle design, which are bead set and together weigh approximately 1.05ctw. The bracelet is hinged and opens at a push clasp hidden within the seam of the band and there is a safety chain added for extra security. On the tongue of the clasp are several small hallmarks, which are French in origin. This unique and exceptional bracelet would make a statement all on its own or would look fabulous paired with other bracelets. A must have for any fashion forward woman or Victorian collector!
Measurements: The inside of the bracelet (where a wrist would rest) measures 2 1/2" wide and 2" tall. The buckle design measures 5/8" tall and 1/4" at its thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting and silver setting, or to the diamonds, which are all intact. The push clasp opens easily and fastens shut securely, and the safety chain is intact.
