Victorian 18kt Architectural Necklace & Bracelet Set w/ Locket Fobs
This magnificent Victorian era (ca1880) architectural piece has a convertible design that can be worn in several stylish ways! Made of 18kt yellow gold, the piece is comprised of a heavy link chain and two removable egg-shaped locket fobs. The chain can be left as a single strand and worn alone as a necklace, or paired with one (or both) of the lockets hanging from the center. The necklace can also be separated in half and worn as two matching bracelets, made possible by two spring ring clasps found within the length of chain. Each bracelet can be worn as a simple chain link piece, or paired with the locket fobs if desired. The large, chunky size of the links paired with the 3-dimensional locket fobs makes quite a striking statement when worn! Each matching locket has two open compartments covered by glass frames inside, perfect for storing special photographs or small objects. A wonderful example of Victorian era architectural style jewelry, this very versatile piece would make an outstanding addition to the fashion-forward woman's collection!
Measurements: The entire chain measures approximately 17" long when worn as a necklace. When separated in half, each bracelet chain measures approximately 8 1/2" long. Each locket hangs 1 3/4" long in total length, including the loops for hanging. The egg-shaped fob itself is 1 1/4" tall and 7/8" wide. The necklace has a total pennyweight of 76.3 dwt.
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold chain links or locket fobs. The surface wear includes a small dent on one side of a locket fob, which is minor and not noticeable when worn. The spring ring clasps are both secure and in good working condition. The hinged lockets open and shut securely, and the glass frames inside are intact.
