Victorian Gold-Filled Textured Chain Necklace w/ Dragon Link
A fantastic gold-filled chain from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This unique handmade piece is comprised of multiple interlocking chain links, which form a woven appearance. Each individual chain link has a textured surface with fine dotted detail, adding further depth to the design. At the center is a decorative accent link, which depicts the 3-dimensional head of a serpent-like dragon. The flowing details represent its scaled surface, with two red paste crystals representing its eyes. Thanks to its generous length, the necklace can be easily slipped on and off overhead, no need for a clasp. It doubles nicely for a stylish layered look, and could be worn alone or draped with other complimentary chains if desired. A very fashionable antique piece, it would make a versatile addition to any collection!
Measurements: The chain measures 57" in total length, and is about 3/16" wide/thick. The dragon head link measures 1" long and is 1/4" at the widest/thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the chain is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold-filled links or to the dragon link, which still retains its original red crystal eyes. There is a natural patina on the surface of the gold-filled setting, which adds authenticity to the antique appearance.
