Victorian Silver Gilt Anchor Link Chain Necklace 18"
A fashionable anchor link necklace with a classic "Gucci style" design! This Victorian era necklace (ca1880) is made of silver gilt, and is comprised of a strand of anchor mariner links, forming a stylish chain. This common link dates back to the Victorian era, and is what the modern "Gucci link" was replicated from. The necklace fastens with an extra large spring ring clasp, which could be used to hang a complimentary locket or pendant from the center if desired. A very versatile piece, it would look fabulous layered with other chains, and is perfect for the fashion-conscious woman's collection!
Measurements: The chain measures approximately 18" long. Each anchor link measures approximately 1/2" long, 3/8" wide, and 1/8" thick.
Condition: The necklace is in good overall antique condition. There is some normal surface wear to the necklace and light fading of the silver gilt finish, which is common for a piece of this age. One of the anchor links has some damage, which is not noticeable when the piece is worn. The spring ring clasp fastens securely and is in good working condition. There is a natural patina on the surface of the setting, which is a normal characteristic of antique jewelry.
