Victorian Sterling Starburst & Ball Motif Book Chain
An absolutely fabulous and unusual book chain from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Made of sterling silver, this wonderful piece is comprised of rectangular shaped links that alternate with silver rings. The front surface of each link adorns an intricate etched design and an alternating pattern of cutout stars and diamond shapes. Hanging from each silver ring are hollow sterling silver balls which move freely, giving the piece lovely movement. At the back of the chain is a small spring clasp which allows you to easily take on and off or to add a complimentary pendant or locket if desired. A fabulous necklace, it is comfortable to wear and would look wonderful worn alone or paired with other Victorian chains!
Measurements: The necklace measures approximately 18.5" long, is 1/2" at the widest point and 3/16" in depth.
Condition: The overall condition of the book chain is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver links or balls and the clasp is secure and in good working condition.
