Victorian 14kt Moss Agate + Rose Cut Diamond Cufflinks
A beautiful and rare pair of moss agate cufflinks from the Victorian (ca1880) era! These double-sided cufflinks are hand-carved from gorgeous moss agate stones, which are clear with natural forest green inclusions throughout, giving them their characteristic "mossy" appearance. The square-shaped links have clipped corners, a concave center, and lightly faceted edges, accentuating their geometric appeal. Set at the center of each cufflink is a single rose cut diamond in a milgrained bezel, adding a soft sparkle to the design! On the back of each cufflink is a 14kt gold lobster clasp connector, allowing the links to be easily detached and reattached if needed. Several markings are stamped on the gold backings, including a maker's mark with what appears to be the initials "M.M." and "R.H." A stunning pair of cufflinks, they boast exemplary moss agate stones, and would look equally wonderful worn by a man or woman!
Measurements: Each cufflink face measures 1/2" across, and is about 1/8" thick. When extended, the space between each cufflink face (where the connectors attach) measures 1" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the cufflinks is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or lobster clasp connectors, which are in good working condition. The moss agate plaques are free of chips and scratches, and all of the accent diamonds are intact and securely set.
