Victorian 15kt Enamel Diamond Hoop Earrings
An absolutely fantastic pair of earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Made of 15kt yellow gold, the earrings have an unusual crescent-like paisley design, consisting of an open oval with a swooping cutout center. Each earring features two rows of pavé set sparkling old Mine and Rose Cut diamonds, which line the curved shape to create a diamond encrusted surface. Bordering the diamonds is a black enamel line, giving the design a very striking look! A row of raised delicate gold balls with a black enamel surface travels along the outside of each earring. The tips of the open shape are accented with 4 bezel set diamond stones, completing the unique design. The earrings fasten together with gold European wires that hook in the front. These fabulous earrings have a very artistic look that blends seamlessly into modern day fashion. They make a gorgeous statement when worn and would make a perfect addition to any collection!
Measurements: Each earring hangs 1 3/8" long, is 1" wide and 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the gold setting and all of the diamonds are intact. The earring wires are secure and in good working condition. There is some minimal surface wear to the enameling however it is not noticeable when the earrings are worn.
