Victorian 15kt Onyx Cross & Enamel Earring & Pin Set
A lovely onyx cross and enamel set from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This 2-piece set is made of 15kt yellow gold and comprised of a pin and a pair of matching earrings. All three pieces feature an elaborate 3-dimensional design which depicts a single onyx cross which rests in the center of a curved gold and enameled arc. The onyx crosses are a rich black color and all have 15kt gold caps at each point that are ornately etched. The curved arc, which lies behind the cross, has a wonderful, inlaid enameled bordering design that is black and white in color. On the inner part of the arc is solid gold which is detailed with a lovely and intricate etched design. On the back of the pin is the original c-catch clasp and each earring hangs from a 15kt gold wire. Each piece is very light in weight and comfortable to wear. This beautiful set would make a great addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pin measures approximately 1 1/4" at the widest point and is a little less than 1 1/4" tall with a depth of 1/2". The earrings hang a little less than 1 1/8" long, are 3/4" at the widest point and have a depth of 1/4".
Condition: The overall condition of the set is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the gold, onyx or enameling on any of the pieces. The earring wires and pin clasp are all in good working condition.
