In French, fleur-de-lys means "lily flower." Decorative ornaments that resemble the fleur-de-lys have appeared in artwork from the earliest human civilizations. It has consistently been used as a royal emblem, though different cultures have interpreted its meaning in various ways.

A beautiful fleur-de-lys pendant from the late Victorian (ca1900) era! This lovely piece is made of 14kt gold, and has a delicate and feminine design. The fleur-de-lys design is hollow inside, and has wonderful 3-dimensional repousse detail on both sides. At the top of the piece is a simple gold ring, perfect for hanging from a favorite chain. This feminine Victorian piece merges seamlessly into modern day fashion and would make a perfect everyday pendant!

Measurements: The pendant hangs 1 5/8" long (including the ring for hanging). The fleur-de-lys itself measures 1 1/4" tall, 1" wide, and 1/8" thick.

Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. The bail is secure and in good condition.
