$2,595
An absolutely gorgeous multi-stone bug pin from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This incredible piece is crafted in 18kt yellow gold and sterling and depicts an open winged bug. The pin, which is fairly large in size, has a body represented by a closed back bezel set garnet stone, which has a wonderfully faceted surface and displays a beautiful deep red color. A natural pearl represents the bug's head, and two small cabochon rubies represent each eye. At the sides of the bug's body are two wide open wings that are topped in sterling and encrusted with 36 old Rose Cut diamonds, collectively weighing approximately 0.80ctw. Surrounding the bug are 6 bent legs that peek out from underneath and 2 gold antennae curve out from either side of a single diamond resting between its ruby eyes. The pin has a wonderful 3-dimensional look with incredible detail throughout and the underside reveals a secure c-catch pin clasp which can be removed. It's a fabulous piece and would make a beautiful addition to any collection!

Measurements: The pin measures 1 1/2" wide, is 1" tall and has a depth of approximately 1/2".

Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and sterling setting and all of the stones are intact. The pin clasp are secure and in good working condition.
