Victorian 14kt Carved Lapis, Diamond & Enamel Ring
An exquisite carved lapis ring from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Made of 14kt yellow gold, the piece has a beautiful lapis set in the center of a complentary blue enameled frame. The lapis has a absolutely gorgeous hand carved cameo image of the face of a woman with soft facial features, flowing hair and 3 flowers at the side of her face. The blue enameled frame encircles the face and compliments the rich blue color of the lapis. Set within the four corners of the framed design are 4 bezel set old Mine Cut diamonds which complete the design perfectly. The lapis cameo is closed back and the underside of the mounting reveals beautiful wirework and an etched design. An enameled design carries onto the shoulders of the mounting and around the outside of the band. The shank is stamped "14K". The ring has a very unusual and beautiful design and the ring would make a gorgeous addition to any collection!
Measurements: The rings rounded diamond shaped frame measures a little less than 1" tall and 3/4" wide and has a depth of 3/8". It has a finger size of 7.25 but could easily be resized.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to the lapis cameo and all of the diamonds are intact. There is only minimal wear to the enameling, none of which is noticeable with the piece is worn.
